We have closed the premises of The Century since December 2024
The last trading day for The Century at The Star will be 16 December 2024, and we look forward to welcoming you once more for our last hurrah. We are grateful to all of our wonderful customers who have supported us over the years – it has been our privilege and joy to look after you.
Our relationship and journey with The Star began in 1997, 27 years ago when we first opened the popular City Noodle Café, and then later in 2012, opening the award winning The Century by Golden Century as the signature Cantonese restaurant.
Having been awarded most recently the 2024 The Best Chinese Restaurant – National & NSW Category (Restaurant & Catering Awards of Excellence), an accolade also received in 2015, alongside Best Restaurant Design in Oceania by Paring Onions Design (2013 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards – London), Best Restaurant Wine List in a Hotel (2014 Australia’s Wine List of The Year), and consecutive Wine Spectator Magazine 2 Glasses Best Of Award of Excellence (2013-2024), Australian Wine List of The Year (2 Glasses, 2013-2024), it is time to say goodbye.
We have new exciting plans as we prepare for a new chapter in our culinary journey, continuing the legacy of the Golden Century Group’s love of Sydney, its people and its culture. It’s an honour to be called an Institution, we wish everyone all the very best and a heartfelt thanks to all our supporters out there. There are many more memories to be made…
We will continue operate as usual at XOPP by Golden Century and Golden Century BBQ.
